I have growing knowledge in a number of fields (mainly computer related), and I am interested in learning more (on my own and from others) in a practical environment. The skills and aptitudes I already possess would be valuable in many different areas.
I am currently doing freelance telecommuting work in a number of fields, including Web programming, Web design, and grant writing. I am currently looking for short-term contracts, with an eye towards building a long-term client base.

Technical support for WebCT’s web-based course instructional software. Client liaison and bug reporting. Troubleshooting web software in a number of environments (Windows 2000 Server, Sun Solaris and Red Hat Linux). Earlier versions of WebCT have been Perl/C++ CGI run on Apache web server (WebCT CE). Current versions of WebCT are enterprise–type Java application served using BEA Weblogic and Oracle database (WebCT Vista). The "Premium" Support group handles clients requiring quick response and 24/7 coverage.

Development and technical administration for the Sweetpeace Playgroup site, an active online community made up of a diverse collection of mothers who came together for support during their pregnancies, and stayed together as an online parenting support group. There were 92 registered users and 18343 posts at the time of this writing.

Participation in the committee that guides 2nd Byte Computers, a non-profit organization dedicated to refurbishing unwanted computer systems and providing them to low income individuals within the local community who need them for professional or educational development.
I am comfortable with all manner of computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet and database (MS Office and others). I am able to quickly learn and begin exploiting the capabilities of a new application.
I have extensive personal experience with the Internet both as a resource and as a social environment. I am familiar with a large number of Internet client packages (and server software) as well as the essential workings of the Internet.
Readings in Philosophy and an understanding of Logic have enhanced my ability to approach a problem in a rational and ordered manner, as has an interest in science and the scientific method.
I actually enjoy the challenges and frustrations encountered in trouble-shooting and bug-hunting; the answers are always there to be found. Application of knowledge and attention to detail are the keys to unlocking any mystery.
